About Me

Quantcast

I live in sunny Southern California, where, contrary to what Tony! Toni! Tone! may have told you, it does rain on occasion! I’m a wife to a wonderful man, a mother to a beautiful little girl, and a young woman that’s just trying to find her way. I describe this blog as a mirror that reflects what my life is like in all of those roles, and how I strive to see the beauty in it all.

The tag line for this blog is: “I live. I love. I write.” Because I do.

I live a great life. I love said life and the people in it. Here is where I write about it all.

I have a passion for communication (no, really…I have two degrees in it!) and I’m a self described people enthusiast! Blogging is a natural course for me and I’m enjoying the experience. Some of my work has been featured on BlackandMarriedwithKids.com, Pampers.com, and BlogHer.com.

So what does “YeYo” mean?

The word “yeyo” (pronounced yay-yo) means mother in the language of the Masai Tribe in Kenya. I was inspired by neo-soul artist Erykah Badu’s song of the same name. It’s a beautiful love letter that documented how Erykah felt while carrying her first child. This blog does the same for me. Here, I hope to engage you with my personal story, while also offering advice, anecdotes, and other fun stuff on a variety of topics that interest me.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to engaging with all of you!
