Cysts, Bananas, and a Date: My Weekend Recap

How was your weekend?

Here’s a recap of how mine was.

On Friday I did a presentation called, “How to Improve Your Listening Skills” at work that went exceptionally well! I can’t wait until I can do more of these types of workshops more often (when I’m working for myself).

Shortly after the presentation I left work for the day because CC had a doctor’s appointment. We’ve been to two doctors (including her pediatrician) about this tissue growth on her left foot. The first podiatrist said it would need to be surgically removed, which had us a little nervous. The second doctor (that we saw on Friday) said it’s likely a hardened ganglion cyst and that removing it wouldn’t be necessary. It’ll likely disappear as her foot continues to grow. We were relieved by that news!

After the doctor visit we went to the grocery store and I bought the ingredients for my first banana pudding. I’ve always LOVED banana pudding but never thought to make it because my husband doesn’t eat bananas, and I didn’t want to eat a whole one by myself (even though I could!). But I saw this recipe on my blogger buddy Christina’s (Being Mrs Jones) blog and had to try it!

It was just as scrumptious as I hoped it would be! I’ll re-blog the recipe in another post, soon.

Saturday was a quiet day. We were out and about running errands, doing typical Saturday stuff. That night my husband took me out to dinner and a movie, and we had a fantastic time! I had been looking forward to our date all week! It was nice to spend some good quality time together.

This garlic bread was heavenly. The perfect opening act to what was a delicious meal!

On Sunday we went to church and then relaxed for a while. I took CC with me to a birthday dinner for my girlfriend that was the perfect close to a great weekend.

There you have it! My weekend in words and pictures.

What did you do?

  • Glad that you all got a second opinion about the cyst and that you got to enjoy a date night. Friday it rained cats and dogs here. Saturday we enjoyed time at the library and Sunday we stayed in because JJ was feeling a little cranky.

Thanks! We definitely are glad that she doesn’t have to have it removed. Hopefully it will disappear over time, just as the doctor said!

  • We DID have a similar weekend! :) Good for you, Mama, for getting a second opinion. When it comes to our babies, decisions like that are even harder.

Your banana pudding is gorgeous. I don’t like BP, but my husband does – but only his aunt’s. So I’ll leave that to his aunt. :-)

You and your fam are just so adorable. It’s crazy how much CC looks like you!
